Art for Film is always looking for new artists to add to its catalog. Since quick and easy accessibility to artwork is critical, AFF works almost exclusively with NYC-based artists. If you are interested in renting your work for use as background set decoration in films, commercials, TV, theatre, or photo shoots, please contact us via email with images (jpegs should be no larger than 1000 pixels high or wide at 72 dpi) or a website. Otherwise, send slides or CDs (NO ORIGINALS please) to:
110 Clifton Place, #4D Brooklyn, NY 11238
What we look for in our artists
First and foremost, AFF looks for quality, high-caliber artwork in a wide range of genres and styles to meet the particular needs of the client. While we seek to provide our clients with a large quantity of artwork to choose from, we don’t feel that the quality of the work should suffer.
Due to the fast-paced nature of the business, AFF asks that its artists and their artwork be easily accessible since we do not warehouse the work ourselves - all artwork is picked up from and delivered to the artist's studio. Artists should keep AFF informed of the availability of their artwork and whether a particular piece or series of work has been sold. Fees paid are usually based upon the estimated selling price of a piece.
The benefits to artists who work with AFF are not just financial however - by working with AFF artists get exposure and enhance their profile. Movie sets, theatres, photo shoots, TV shows and commercials are ideal places to give artists exposure to thousands of potential collectors – sometimes, set directors or photographers may fall in love with a piece and choose to purchase it after the rental period has ended. Although it has never happened, there is always a risk that a piece may be damaged in such a busy work environment. In such an event, AFF requires that the production company provide insurance for the total cost of an artwork before any piece is rented.
